AAT recently exhibited at the 2011 Scotland Colleges conference at Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh, entitled ‘Sustaining Success’.
The conference featured an address from Scotland’s new Minister for Learning and Skills, Dr Alasdair Allan MSP, who pressed home the need for colleges to look at initiatives such as mergers as a way to pool valuable resources and improve service delivery against a backdrop of pressure on FE sector funding.
Indeed, many of the conference’s sessions focused on the pressures facing the FE sector in the face of budget cuts and the need to work closely with key partners to address the skills challenges in Scotland. Vocational training will have a key role to play in helping to meet these challenges and AAT looks forward to continuing to work in partnership with our training providers, students and employers across Scotland to continue to address these issues.
