AAT employer spotlight: Iain Abernethy, Johnston Carmichael

Iain Abernethy is Training and Development Manager with Johnston Carmichael, Scotland’s leading independent chartered accountancy firm.  Here he shares his thoughts on the benefits AAT had brought to the business:

“The company has been supporting people to train with the AAT for almost a decade. It’s something we fully intend to keep on doing. The AAT qualification is a great start to an accounting career. It’s one of our key qualifications.

Being successful with the AAT qualification is a great indicator for someone doing well at their job. If they can apply themselves to their studies, the chances are that this will be reflected in their working life too.

In our experience AAT students are well trained and equipped to do a wide variety of work. We have staff members who have used the AAT qualification as a springboard to becoming Senior Client Relationship Managers here, working alongside our Partners.”
