Sarah Cordwell from Kaplan, Glasgow
AAT recently attended Kaplan Financial’s product update evening in Edinburgh, where the team from Scotland gave employers a glimpse of the future as they talked through some of the blended learning solutions they have on offer.
Designed to complement and add value to both classroom and distance learning tuition, Sarah Cordwell, the Centre manager for Glasgow, explained some of these developments and how they can support both Kaplan students and the wider accountancy training community.
Running an effective small business just got easier for business owners in Glasgow thanks to the introduction of a new AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) training course delivered by City of Glasgow College.

Over the last few years AAT has seen a big increase in the number of students choosing to study by distance learning, particularly in places like Scotland where training providers may not always be on your doorstep. But things have come a long way from the traditional correspondence course.
We asked BPP’s David Gumley to tell us about their own innovative online learning product and some of the benefits this brings to students and employers:
It’s the first week of autumn, and although ‘summer’ 2012 may have passed us by, the chance to get started with your AAT studies is still there for the taking.
Many of our AAT training providers in Scotland still have places available on their courses for the autumn intake. The following are also offering funded places for those who meet the eligibility criteria through the modern apprenticeship scheme:
- Dundee College, Dundee
- James Watt College, Greenock
- Kaplan Financial, Glasgow
- Microcom Training, Glasgow & Inverness
- Orkney College, Orkney
You can find the contact details for these, and all our training providers in Scotland through aat.org.uk/trainingproviders
